5 Reasons to live in Ruthin

Ruthin is like no where else in Wales – hidden, magical and historical… it successfully combines great places to shop and eat with a sense of community and of course, the wealth of history.

The architecture has a touch of the fantastic about it too with the medieval buildings integrated into every twist and turn and the grand Castle entrance at the very end of the street. The castle was torched by Owain Glyndwr, its ruins gothicised in the 1820s by the romantics and is now a beautiful a hotel, spa and wedding venue.

Nantclwyd y Dre is also situated on Castle Street, not far from the residential area. This ancient gaol is now a museum which has also been awarded a 2017 Visit Wales Hidden Gem award.

Although the history of the place is very forefront of this pretty town, don’t be fooled… Ruthin is not stuck in the past. It boasts a lauded restaurant, a boutique hotel,  a very popular National Craft Centre and much more.
