5 Reasons to live in Cilcain, Flintshire
Cilcain is the archetypal picture postcard perfect village. Set in the foothills of Moel Famau in the Clwydian Range, this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) offers exceptional views at every corner.
At the heart of the village is the Church, Pub, Village Hall and shop. It’s really all you need in a village like this… St. Mary’s stands proud perched towards the top of hill offering a real focal point; the Village Hall is well utilised with a Community Cafe being held every Saturday for different charities; the village shop is exactly what you’d want it to be and much more; and The White Horse, Cilcain’s traditional pub, with all it’s beautiful hanging baskets, is beautiful both inside and out.
What really makes Cilcain one of Flintshire’s most popular villages though is the real sense of community. The annual Cilcain Show takes place every August Bank Holiday. Cilcain really offers a warm community welcome to its many visitors. The show attracts about 4,000 visitors and raises funds for the church and local community. The show has origins as early as 1923 in the Cilcain Home, Farm and Garden Society.
Needless to say, properties in Cilcain are extremely popular. The good news is that there are varying houses for different budgets from the modern houses in the Cul de Sacs to the chocolate box cottages, not forgetting the larger properties with land.
